Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former coach Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after that period of that year.
Victory also means the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
