'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues clash with City.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the dramatic dying seconds of Swansea's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game culminated with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear amid the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative effort from 25 yards, and the defender quickly converted the loose ball before racing off toward the crowd to mark the goal, with supporters congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory sealed an extraordinary turnaround given Swansea had trailed 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. During the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a spectator shouting out and Josh Key and I were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

That win earned a upcoming game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's volley from about long distance going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that range," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right wing-back after they changed formation. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the opposition who praised the way the underdogs played positively.

City's Quality

"Athletically they are very good but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," Galbraith says. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to dictate and slow down a game. You can believe you're all right and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be focused throughout of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across multiple campaigns at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in Wales. At Orient he linked up again with the coach, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in senior football on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a spell at League Two Salford City, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into professional soccer. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without serious challenge. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that development for club and country, performing well for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including two matches games against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

It has been an incredible journey for the player from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his parent, his father, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

His sole appearance for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was sealed owing to the weather of -15C. "It was a long trip and it was chilly," he recalls, grinning. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Moving On

How difficult was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged 16? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I reached the point where I understood I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I felt I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play professional soccer. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a learner's exam, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which transports players to and from practice and games.

"My companions include Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's nice to socialize with the lads but I'm planning to be the following person to drive independently and driving. Franco enjoys practical jokes; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on public transport after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
